iPhone 16 will have a vertical camera like the iPhone 12 '
According to the latest information, the dual cameras on the iPhone 16 will be arranged vertically like the iPhone 12. The design change will probably also apply to the iPhone 16 Plus.
Apple has switched to a diagonal dual camera set for the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini, and this design is also maintained with the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus. The diagonal layout is expected to continue with the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus launching later this year, but these could be the last iPhones to use this design.
If this rumor is correct, the iPhone 16 will return to the same design as the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini. However, users can still distinguish the iPhone 16 from the old generation thanks to factors such as Dynamic Island and USB-C port.
It's not clear why Apple changed the camera design beyond aesthetics. When the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini were released, Apple said: 'The rear camera layout has been redesigned with diagonally arranged lenses housing an advanced dual-camera system'.
In addition to the camera design, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are also said to have larger screens of 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches, respectively. Since these two phones have 3 cameras on the back, the vertical layout does not apply.
